NBLC seeks to offer both local learning opportunities and ministerial formation. How effective has it been and how might both these areas of work be improved in the future?
I know this is very specific but it would be helpful if NBLC could find some way to influence the wider Baptist community, whether that is combined local churches or via the BU home mission, to support ministers-in-training who want to explore new ways of being church. Currently unless I have a placement in a local church in the traditional model there is unlikely to be a training stipend to support a placement. If a stipend could follow the student on placements approved by the college (which may include working ecumenically) then this would better equip those whose call is to new expressions of church.
